art festival adventures

this week was definitely one of the best weekends i've had this summer. i fall in love with baltimore more and more each day and saturday was perfect. anthony and i headed downtown to artscape, the largest free art festival in the country. it was so much cooler and more awesome than i ever though it was going to be! there were visual art exhibits, live music, shadow puppet shows, great food, and more.

the weather was calling for rain but it was gorgeous, sunny, and breezy all afternoon. it couldn't have been better. we drank margaritas and walked around and enjoyed all of the unique pieces of art. it was like nothing i've ever seen before. and these photos definitely do not do it justice! i decided to wear one of my fave combinations chambray and denim. it was perfect for a day of walking around the city.

i was glad i wore this colorful turban, floral sneakers, and a crazy variety of arm candy because everything at artscape was so vibrant and colorful and i really fit right in! these shoes are one of my favorite. i picked them up at h&m in NYC a few years ago and i've worn them steadily ever since. they are comfy and fun and add color to a simple outfit like this.

the best part of the festival was the jukebox the ghost concert. it was free and we were in the front row!! they are one of my favorite bands and i couldn't have been more excited to see them live and up close. if you've never listened to them, go download all three of their albums right now. i'm serious! they are such talented guys and super fun performers. i've seen them multiple times now and they never disappoint!

after the concert we walked around and got ice-cream cones and enjoyed the crowds. it was one of the best afternoons i've had in a while! and our day didn't end there. we left downtown and headed to columbia to see another one of my favorite bands live... fun! you've probably heard of these guys because they are all over the radio these days, but if not they are awesome. and again, seeing them live is so cool. it's like one big dance party.

we were at merriweather pavilion, which is an outdoor venue and right after the openers finished, the clouds started rolling in and it started to thunder. some people decided to leave but come on, a little rain never hurt anybody! we totally embraced it. fun. came on stage, and it started pouring! we got drenched and sang and danced and honestly it couldn't have been more awesome. it was a perfect summer night.

i'm so thankful for weekends like this. i had so much fun. (hehe, pun intended). concerts, festivals, ice-cream, etc. is what summer is all about. this summer has been so amazing! and it's not even over yet! i can't wait for all of the other great things that are going to happen in the coming weeks.

thanks for reading and i hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.
